Minnesota Center for Book Arts: Comic Book Heroes - St. Peter Library

A respected and dedicated champion of the field Minnesota Center for Book Arts is the largest and most comprehensive center of its kind. They celebrate the book as a vibrant contemporary art form that takes many shapes and their mission is: to lead the advancement of the book as an evolving art form. They will present tow workshops on comic book making which fits amazingly well with this year's summer reading theme, "Every Hero has a Story." The morning workshop will be geared towards children from ages 6-10 years of age. The afternoon workshop will be geared towards teenagers from 11-16 years of age. Both workshops will be very "hands-on". Children will learn in-depth how to develop their own characters, design their own books and layout their own comic books.

This event is made possible by a grant provided by the Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative and was funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
