Things That Go Bump in the Night - Mankato

In this program, geared for ages pre-K through 5th grade, Robert and Lynn Halbrook will use story-telling, drama, comedy, magic, lots of great books and audience participation to illustrate their central theme: "Reading in monstrously great fun!" Every time a book is opened, readers have the opportunity to explore extraordinary worlds, meet outrageous characters and learn to do the most amazing things.

Filled with Halloween-themed magic and comedy, each routine promotes a specific book. Topical and classical books are seleccted based upon a graduated scale of pre-K through 5th grade. Then, magic and illusion are woven throughout its pages - magic especially crafted to illustrate that book.

Finally, kids will get some trick-or-treating safety tips.

This event is made possible by a grant provided by the Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative and was funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
